Dear LifePointe Family,

I just finished a breakfast with Pastor Phil Munsey and Doug Bisel of Joel Osteen’s Champions Network for pastors, and have some great news and finalized details of how you can participate.

LifePointe Church has been asked by Joel Osteen and Lakewood Church to partner with Pastor Joel & Victoria Osteen for a Night of Hope in Kansas City, Missouri on January 5th, 2018!  We are honored and thrilled to have this opportunity, and have invited other churches here in Greater Kansas City hosting this evening. We count it a privilege to be able to serve and love others as well as help people take the next step in their spiritual journey.

THE OPPORTUNITY FOR SPIRITUAL HARVEST

We anticipate 70% of our audience to stand in response to Joel’s clear call to faith (about 8,400+/- can be expected to respond). If you have never been to a Night of Hope, or if you have heard negative street talk about Joel, you really owe it to yourself and the Kingdom of God to witness this for yourselves.

We plan to host a very special guest speaker the Sunday following the Friday Night of Hope (see the bottom), giving us an incredible “harvest” opportunity to gain new LifePointe members.

The NIGHT OF HOPE KANSAS CITY

takes place on January 5th, 2018, at 7:30pm

at the Sprint Center.

WE NEED LIFEPOINTE VOLUNTEERS FOR THE EVENT!

Register to Volunteer:  To volunteer you must register at the Registration Form on the bottom of this page. These volunteers are very important, yet there are limited spots. Read details below to see if you are a good fit.

We need to provide several volunteers inside the arena. This allows us to be walking billboards for LifePointe, each of us wearing our LifePointe brand t-shirts (we will have new ones). With 80% of the audience being unchurched, this is an amazing opportunity to connect with people who actually want a church. We could see 10’s to 100’s of visitors at LifePointe on the following Sunday (see the bottom for our special connector service that Sunday).

Ushers – Greeters – Retail Workers:  LifePointe will be providing a portion of the Ushers, Greeters and Retail Workers (books, cds, etc). Ushers will have an opportunity to work their sections before the event and invite people in that section to LifePointe. Retail workers will also have conversations with people, inviting them to LifePointe. We have invited a handful of other churches in KC to join us and have opportunity to populate the volunteer teams.

All Greeters and Retail volunteers will probably sit together in one section. Greeters will stand at Sprint Center spots to say hello to people on the way in. Retail Workers will need to be comfortable with a large amount of sales happening in managed chaos.

Ushers sit in the section they are volunteering. If you desire be serve as an Usher you must be comfortable with heights. Also, they desire that event Ushers already be Ushers at our church.

Volunteers Must Arrive to Sprint Center By 3:30: Greeters, Retail and Ushers MUST be available to work Friday from 3:30, and then stay until the end of the Night of Hope. A box dinner will be provided to all evening volunteers. Greeters and Retail volunteers will serve about 15 minutes into the Night of Hope event prior to participating at their seats.

Free T-Shirt:  All volunteers will be given a LifePointe t-shirt to wear for the Night of Hope.

Volunteers Get Complimentary Tickets:  As a volunteer you will be given two (2) free tickets to the Night of Hope. Volunteers who serve in twos should plan to serve together, either doing the same team function or serving on separate team functions, with both engaged in volunteering. Volunteers will need to plan separate seating from their extended family and friends, as responsibilities will require seat fluidity.

Register to Volunteer:  To volunteer you must register at the Registration Form on the bottom of this page. These volunteers are very important, yet there are limited spots. Read details below to see if you are a good fit.

PURCHASE TICKETS - "I WANT TO SIT WITH A LIFEPOINTE GROUP BUT I DON’T WANT TO VOLUNTEER"

Some of you may want to attend, but desire to sit with extended family and friends. We will order a batch of LifePointe tickets for those who prefer not to Volunteer, but want to sit in a LifePointe group section. This is a great option if you want your personal family, elementary to youth children, or extended friends and family, to sit with you.

Invite Friends:  The Night of Hope is a great experience to invite your friends to. I have invited people I want to lead to faith in Christ. I also give these complimentary to people who bless me, like my chiropractor. The gift is a great way to say thank you and give back. You may want to consider purchasing more than just for you to give away.

Ticket Purchase Costs:  These tickets will cost $20 each.

Deadline for Purchase:  We will need to have all orders for tickets by Sunday, November 26. The order will not be complete until payment is completed at www.mylifepointe.com/give and then choose “Adult Event” as the fund option. Our ticket-batch order will be made on Monday, November 27. Please don’t procrastinate as there will be no exceptions.

JOEL OSTEEN CRITICISMS

Unfortunately, many people have seen social media criticisms and/or street talk questioning Joel. Tina and I have known of Joel, his Dad, and extended family for many years. Joel’s Dad, John, was a platform preacher-mentor to us. We have been in Joel’s home on a few occasions, and have many close friends who work with the Osteens. If Joel and Victoria were unknown we would count it an honor to be their friends, as they are some of the kindest, most sincere, innocent-hearted people we have ever known.

As you can imagine, there are massive amounts of fake news and wrong information that are circulated as truth about him. Because we have a close-up view - generally knowing how they made their money, to why they have a nice house, to why he dodges ethical-doctrine questions in TV interviews, to what really happened at Lakewood Church during the Houston floods - we are deeply saddened by the enemy’s perpetrating of untruths.

We vet our public partnerships and carry convictions that must align with the doctrines of ancient Christianity. If you have hesitations of any kind about Joel, feel free to reach out to me and have a healthy conversation as to why we support him and events like the Night of Hope. You might be surprised by the real Joel.

EXCITING NEWS:  LISA OSTEEN COMES WILL BE AT LIFEPOINTE JANUARY 7th

Lisa Osteen Comes has accepted our invitation to be our guest speaker on the Sunday following the Friday Night of Hope. Lisa is Joel’s sister and regular teaching pastor at Lakewood. She is a dynamic speaker with the same Osteen kindness you see in Joel. We will be leveraging this great Sunday in our invitations to friends. As the Ushers connect with their Night of Hope sections, and as Retail Workers connect with audiences, our team will be handing out invitation flyers to our Sunday with Lisa. Our return on investment for this could net hundreds of visitors that day. As we get closer we will consider hosting 2 services that morning, or just loving the overflow experience of a cram-packed house. Be watching for more details!

Be sure to register to volunteer below! There are a limited number of spots.

Be sure to make your Night of Hope ticket purchases (if not volunteering):  We will need to have all orders for tickets by Sunday, November 26. The order will not be complete until payment is completed at www.mylifepointe.com/give and then choose “Adult Event” as the fund option. Our ticket-batch order will be made on Monday, November 27. Living the REDemption Life,
