DAY 10 - HEALING FOR THE BODY AND MIND

DEVO:
The question of "can" God heal our bodies, emotions, and hearts is solidified in God's very nature; God is All-powerful. But the often-asked question, "Is it God's WILL to heal ME," keeps people from boldly walking out God's gift of love to them.
For many Christians, the question of God’s willingness to heal ME is ONLY answered in spontaneous experience; they ask, and then wait for a limited time for an experience of healing to confirm His will. If they aren’t healed, they assume it wasn’t God’s will to heal them. If they had experienced a manifested healing then it would have been affirmed as God’s will. The authority of God’s will lays only in post-prayer experience. To crown our experiences as the will of God is to exalt the value of experience above all other revelation, including God's Word.
Yet none of us approach living righteously this way. What if a person prays, "God if it is your will for me to live righteously, then I expect a special manifestation, a robotic control, over the impulses of my flesh"? Of course this would allow that person to excuse their excesses. They would then be permitted to say "Well it must not be God's will for me to live righteously because that wasn't my experience after I prayed." Of course this is ridiculous reasoning and bad theology. There has to be a greater revelation than our experiences.
The greatest revelation given to man about God's will is God's Word. God's Word defines God’s will through the lens of Redemption, or the Atonement. If Christ accomplished something in Redemption, it is no longer dependent on God’s spontaneous sovereignty, or even a "promise." Redemption makes everything a "FACT" in the mind of God. This is a result of God’s legal nature being satisfied in Christ’s death and resurrection. What Christ DID in Redemption forever echoes God’s unchanging will as being “DONE.”
Theologians Guy Duffield and N.M. Van Cleave stated it like this: “The most positive answer to the question concerning God’s will with regard to healing today, is found in the relationship between Divine Healing and the Atonement. …[the] heart of the matter centers around the questions: 'Did Christ make special provision for the healing of the body? Is this blessing included in the Atoning Sacrifice which He made on Calvary’s Cross?' We believe that the Bible teaches that this is so.” (Is 53:3-5; Matt 8:17; 1 Pet 2:24)
So when our prayer requests seem unanswered, we should address that problem with other assessments. We never have to question God's will on the matter again because of Redemption. While we do pray "If it be your will" about personal issues that are related to direction, decision making, or wisdom; we NEVER need to pray "If it be your will" for healing or any issue that Redemption has already accomplished. The question of "WILL" God heal our bodies, emotions, and hearts is cemented in God’s very nature; the nature of LOVE! Knowing that God's will is ALWAYS "YES!" stimulates our faith to receive!
PRAYER:
Lord God, I receive Christ’s Redeeming work for me. I exalt the Word of God and the revelation of Redemption as my highest authority concerning You. I receive my healing, restoration, renewal, and strength.

14 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. 15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. 16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
17 So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. 18 They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. 19 Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, and they are full of greed.
20 That, however, is not the way of life you learned 21 when you heard about Christ and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. 22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
25 Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body. 26 “In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27 and do not give the devil a foothold. 28 Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need.
29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
DECLARATION:
Christ has redeemed me from the curse of the law. Therefore, I forbid any sickness or disease to come upon this body. Every disease germ and every virus that touches this body dies instantly in the name of Jesus. Every organ and every tissue of this body functions in the perfection to which God created it to function, and I forbid any malfunction in this body, in the name of Jesus. (Galatians 3:13; Romans 8:11; Genesis 1:31; Matthew 16:19)
