BREAK FREE #5

TODAY’S BIG IDEA:

FORGIVENESS

IS NOT ABOUT

THE OTHER PERSON;

FORGIVENESS

IS ABOUT

HEALING THE PAIN

BEHIND WHAT WAS DONE.

FORGIVENESS IS NOT HEALING;

IT SIMPLY MAKES FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF HEALING.

LUKE 17:4-5 KJV And if he [a BROTHER] trespass against you SEVEN TIMES IN A DAY, and seven times in a day turn again to you, saying, I repent; you must forgive him. 5 And the apostles said unto the Lord, INCREASE OUR FAITH.

EPHESIANS 6:11, 14 NKJV Put on THE WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil…. 14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, …16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the FIERY DARTS of the wicked one. -

HEBREWS 12:14-15 NKJV Pursue PEACE with all [people], …looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any ROOT of BITTERNESS SPRINGINGUP cause TROUBLE, and by this many become DEFILED;

  • Peace – Wholeness, nothing broken, nothing missing, at one again – antithesis of broken, content, complete, prospering.
  • Root – a shoot or offspring.
  • Bitterness – a harsh, disagreeable experience causing emotional pain or distress, compelling the wounds to shame, self-deprecation and outward smoldering resentment.
  • Springing - To beget, bring forth, produce, be born, to spring up, to grow, to shoot forth, spring up.
  • Up - The trouble/bitterness is at the surface ready to be released outward.
  • Trouble – Excite, annoy, disturb.
  • Defile – Dye with another color; to stain; pollute or contaminate.

LUKE 17:5-6 KJV And the apostles said unto the Lord, INCREASE OUR FAITH. 6 And the Lord said, If you had FAITH AS A GRAIN of mustard seed, you might SAY unto this SYCAMINE TREE, Be thou plucked up BY THE ROOT, and be thou planted in the sea; and IT SHOULD OBEY YOU.

THE SECRETS BEHIND THE SYCAMINE TREE

  1. The sycamine tree had a very large and deep root structure.
  2. The sycamine tree produced a fig that was very bitter to eat.
  3. The sycamine tree was pollinated only by wasps.
  4. The sycamine tree grew quickly in nearly any environment.

EPHESIANS 6:16-17 NKJV …16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the FIERY DARTS of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the SWORD OF THE SPIRIT, which is the word of God;

ISAIAH 49:2 NKJV [Isaiah said], “And He has made MY MOUTH LIKE A SHARP SWORD;"

REVELATION 1:16 NKJV He had in His [Jesus’] right hand seven stars, out of His MOUTH went a SHARP TWO-EDGED SWORD, and His countenance [was] like the sun shining in its strength.

  2. WOUND (ME)
  3. FORGIVENESS (ME)
  4. HEAL (ME)
  5. RECONCILE (US)
  6. TRUST (US)
