LIFEPOINTE EMAIL - 03.12.2020
Dear LifePointe Family,
WOW! Tina and I stepped on a plane on Wednesday to minister in Kalamazoo, Michigan and by the time we landed the world had changed. The Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis management took to exponential heights and now has continued to rise with items like:
· Colleges moving all courses online
· Churches moving Sunday worship experiences to online
· President announcing travel bans from Europe
· NBA suspending season
· NCAA Tournament cancelled
· Kansas City Mayor announcing a state-of-emergency
We know that the Coronavirus (COVID-19) has become a worldwide concern and is on everyone’s minds. So, we wanted to take a few moments to send you this special note to let you know it is on our minds too.
PLANNING LIFEPOINTE’S ACTION
We plan to meet with some of our LifePointe leaders on Saturday. With the medical community calling for social distancing, not gathering in larger crowds, we will process what are the best actions for LifePointe for this coming Sunday and for all our ministries. We understand that this is bigger than “me” and “us.” This is about both serving our community and safeguarding against the viral multiplication. Our decisions will be to show compassion towards for those who are at higher risk of fatality, as well as being conscientious to not contribute to the overloading our health-care system with flooded COVID-19 cases.
We will update everyone for final decisions for Sunday by Saturday through email, our websites and on social media.
SPIRITUAL FOUNDATIONS OF PEACE AND FAITH
While it's good to be informed, don’t allow the plethora of media reports (sometimes confusing or contradictory) to create fear in your heart -- rather, this is a good time for us as believers to stay anchored in the truth of God’s Word. Let your fearless faith shine as you trust in Jesus.
Let’s remember...
2 Timothy 1:7
"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."
Psalm 91:5-7, 10-11
“Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night,
nor the arrow that flies in the day.
6 Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness,
nor the disaster that strikes at midday.
7 Though a thousand fall at your side,
though ten thousand are dying around you,
these evils will not touch you. ...
9 If you make the LORD your refuge,
if you make the Most High your shelter
10 no evil will conquer you;
no plague will come near your home.
11 For he will order his angels
to protect you wherever you go.”
Finally, keep your own heart encouraged by spending time with the Lord in prayer, reading His Word and singing our friends, Jeff and Beth Jones’ church Valley Family Church have a great song to sing over your life and family, “Surrounded -- I am protected” -- click here to listen on Spotify or click here to listen on YouTube.
We love you and we are praying for you,
Pastor Patrick and Tina
