05 - HEALING - THE "WHAT ABOUTS"

ICE BREAKER / GAME

Which holiday has the most meaning for you? Why?

OPENING PRAYER

PRAYER EXAMPLE:  Heavenly Father, tonight we invite you to open our thinking. Give us your mind to share in your thoughts. Help us to know what you know, and experience Scripture the way you experience it. We ask the Holy Spirit to make the Scriptures come alive to with energy to our hearts. Help us to grow closer in relationship together. In Jesus Name. Amen.

GROUP SESSION VIDEO

This semester in Group focuses on the topic of Healing.

CONVERSATION QUESTIONS

The below questions serve as a guide to conversation.  Select those which you feel will spark conversation, depth and growth in understanding.

  1. If you have been a Christian very long, you have heard different teachings on some of the stories we covered today.  What stories have you gotten stuck on in the past? (Job, Paul’s thorn, Timothy stomach, etc.). How has today's Group teaching helped you?
  2. In the story of Job’s suffering, even with limited knowledge of God’s Word, he never cursed God, never quit or stopped fighting.  Why is it hard to keep fighting and not blame God when we are suffering?
  3. What are strategies you could do that would help you stay connected to God, leaning into Him the next time you are attached by the devil, whether sickness or something else?

PRAYER

(Encourage others to pray, gaining confidence in public prayer in a safe environment)

EXAMPLE PRAYER:  Heavenly Father, we thank you for this amazing teaching from your Word and ask you to help us all understand the power and truth that was spoken today. Help us grasp who you are so we can continue to lean into you and not quit. We thank you for the life and power of your Word. In Jesus Name, Amen.
